EFL Summer School Teacher

Overview of role

EFL Teacher Required teach English as a Foreign language to students at various levels – beginner, elementary, intermediate and upper intermediate, and advanced. This will be for our English Summer Programme, July – August 2007.

Qualification and skills required

1st Degree and CELTA/ ATT qualification or equivalent – experience preferred but newly qualified teachers considered also, Must be enthusiastic and outgoing - interests in music/ drama/ photography/ sports/ arts are favourable.

Main duties:

  • To have 17 contact teaching hours with the students (15 of these hours are teaching and the other 2 hours to assist with Wednesday Workshops)
  • To assist with the administration of the written and oral tests
  • To assist with the marking of placement tests
  • To prepare materials for lessons in an organized and timely fashion
  • To keep on file for inspection purposes all lesson plans and records of lessons taught including materials used
  • To mark and record students’ work where and when necessary
  • To keep a daily record of attendance
  • To attend staff meetings when held
  • To show a willingness to attend social events (this could be one evening per week)
