Summer Programmes
Foyle Language School's Summer Programmes for learners of English have been running very successfully for the past
15 years and are firm favourites with past students. A summer programme is an ideal way to enjoy an action packed Irish
holiday with serious academic study. Courses combine English classes in the morning session with cultural and social events in
the afternoons and evenings.

We employ native English speakers to act as mentors to the group and accompany the students on excursions and activities.
Our team of English language teachers are experienced, appropriately qualified and under the expert guidance of the
Director of Studies, provide excellentand worthwhiletuition. There is a special classfor advanced level students
who are studying English philology at university.
One afternoon per week all students participate in group workshops covering topics such as drama, poetry, music, photography and journalism, which are presented to a local audience on the final week of the course. We also work in conjunction with our local further and higher education college (www.nwifhe.ac.uk) to provide students with top quality facilities including several computer suites, full library access, coffee bar, theatre and even the opportunity to gain an online English qualification with Learn Direct or a Trinity GESE examination.
Students accommodation is either with one of our excellent host families or at one of the local university student villages. Many of our families are within walking distance of the school (maximum walking distance- 30 minutes). There are a number of families providing single student places, but applications to these places are limited and early enrolment is advisable. The student villages are situated in the beautiful Duncreggan area, 20 minutes walk from the school and where possible we try to mix the nationalities in each apartment.
