Course Description

The aim of this course is to provide medical personnel with an intensive IELTS preparation course over 36 weeks, which will allow them to achieve 7.0 in the academic IELTS module. After students achieve the required IELTS score they can progress to the 12 week medical English component which will provide them with the opportunity to develop the necessary English language skills to enable them to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues. Upon successful completion of the course, students can apply for supervised practice with a nursing home or NHS hospital and request a place on the ONP programme with one of the local providers.

Other Information

The new recommendation for IELTS from the GMC (General Medical Council) and NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council) for Nurses and Doctors outside the EU is level 7.0 in the academic module.
